Well, to install active sync, I need my companion CD for the PM. However, I can't seem to find it.
I have a QX 400, and got a wireless installation CD,
a CD that brings up a badly scripted web page with flash player things and image buttons,
a CD with a html document with links to things like, "third party programs"
and a double CD pack that says, pac mate curriculum.
One CD is a retarded winamp disk that talks about the devellopment of the pm, the other has a webpage with the teacher guide.

lol, I am very confused, and don't think any of those is it.
So, general help would be welcome.

Uhm, I'm pretty sure that microsoft should have active sync for download somewhere. I know there's a dl of it on the pulsedata page, but not sure FS has it on their site. (Ironic since I use a pacmate myself.) Not sure that'll help you any.

I finally figured out the thing, and used the new USB wizard thing to search for drivers.
I'm gonna try again today, but it said something about a service error or something?
Maybe I need outlook, a certain version? I have "microsoft outlook" but I never use it so...

Hi,
You don't really need MS Outlook to get Active Sync to work. I used it a long time before I even had Outlook, and it worked fine. You only need it if you want to sync your calendar, contacts, and other stuff like that from your PC to your PM and keep them synced with each other. Oh, one more thing I forgot is that if you are using Outlook, you can also sync email like you can with your calendar.
There is a version of Active Sync that you can download on the downloads page of the Pac Mate Gear website which is
www.pacmategear.com.
HTh,
Jeffrey
